Friends of Big Bend National Park

Join us for our second annual celebration of National Public Lands Day! 

Come out to the park September 24-25, 2010 to volunteer at Big Bend.

Friday, September 24
4PM-7PM:                  Registration (Chisos Mountain Lodge Patio)
6:30PM:                       Root beer float party (Chisos Mountain Lodge Patio) 

Saturday, September 25
7:30AM-8:30AM:        Registration, Breakfast and Welcome (Chisos Mountain Lodge)
9:00AM-12:30:            Volunteer projects (Persimmon Gap Visitors Center)
(There will be different groups doing different projects)
12:30-1:30:                  Sack Lunch picnic on-site
1:30PM-4PM:              Behind the scenes discussion of Fire Management by Jim Kitchens.  A demonstration burn will be conducted for the education of participants. 
4PM-8:30PM:              Break and Dinner on your own
8:30PM:                       Dessert and paleontology program (Basin amphitheatre, dessert provided)
