Corporate Support and Workplace Giving

Whole Earth Provisions and Patagonia Teamed Up for the Park!
In September 2009, Whole Earth Provision Company and Patagonia teamed up to help Friends of Big Bend.  For every pair of Patagonia footwear purchased during a certain time frame, Patagonia contributed $5.00 to the Friends of Big Bend.  Thanks to both companies – what a great way to help the park!

Big Bend Coffee Roasters Promotion:Coffee Roasters logo
In 2008, Friends of Big Bend welcomed a new partner – Big Bend Coffee Roasters in Marfa, Texas.  Big Bend Coffee Roasters donated 1% of its sales of the Big Blend of Texas to FBBNP.  You can find this coffee all over Texas, in the park at the Chisos Mountain Lodge and on their website at www.bigbendcoffee.com.  Thank you to this organic, fair-trade company for supporting the park with this generous donation!

Workplace Giving makes an impact!
For many offices, workplace giving is in full swing.  Employees from many corporations and cities across the state of Texas have the opportunity to support the Friends through their workplace gifts.  The Friends are represented by EarthShare of Texas, an umbrella group for Texas’ leading environmental and conservation groups.  Many campaigns are underway, so look for pledge cards at your workplace!

You can find EarthShare of Texas campaign literature on pledge cards at all state agencies; all state colleges and universities; federal agencies in most parts of Texas; Houston and Austin school districts; Austin, Dallas, El Paso, San Antonio, San Marcos and Houston municipal offices and many private employers.

If your employer doesn’t offer the chance to support the Friends and other Earth Share of Texas environmental groups, contact Courtney at friendsdirector [Email address: friendsdirector #AT# yahoo.com - replace #AT# with @ ] to find out how you can make environmental giving a priority for your employer.

Matching Gifts
You can double the impact of your gift with a simple form from your payroll or human resources office.  Thousands of companies worldwide provide a match for their employee’s charitable contributions.  This year Friends of Big Bend National Park has received matching gifts from several companies including BP, El Paso Corporation, ExxonMobil, Hewlett-Packard and TransCanada.  Be sure to submit your matching gifts form to your employer every time you make a donation – and we thank you for making the most of your charitable contributions!

Peregrine Hill Winery
Peregrine Hill Winery returned again this year as a supporter of the Friends.  Check your local Randalls, Central Market or HEB for bottles of their Peregrine Hill wines, which will have a Friends of Big Bend “necker” attached.  These special tags contain an entry form for a raffle.  The winner will receive a statue of a peregrine falcon by artist Bob Coffee entitled “The Prize”.    Peregrine Hill realizes the important habitat that Big Bend National Park provides birds like the threatened peregrine falcon, which frequent their West Texas vineyard and their donation to the Friends reflects their interest in protecting the falcon’s habitat.

National Public Lands Day
Friends of Big Bend is gearing up for an exciting new event next year – a member volunteer project at the park on National Public Lands Day.  Sponsorships for this fun, member-oriented event are available now.  Please contact Courtney at 512-529-1149 or friendsdirector [Email address: friendsdirector #AT# yahoo.com - replace #AT# with @ ] to see how your company can be a part of supporting the park!
