My first time to Big Bend was with backpacking friends some years ago. We were coming from Round Rock heading south to BBNP, just north of Marathon when we approached a prairie rain storm to the east. I was driving and noticed a 'lightning hot spot' where a strike would occur about every 45 seconds (I counted). Passenger steered as I rolled the window down to attempt to capture the next strike. I tried about 5 shots. Didn't know I caught one until we got home several days later. Click on the link for the big size.
